FAQs

About Us

Q:

Is this co-op secular?

A:

Yes, we are a secular co-op. While we have families from all different religious and non-religious background, we do not use prayer, teach from the Bible, or have religious classes.

Q:

Where and when does this co-op meet?

A:

Our co-op meets at Camp ToPeNeBee in Michigan City, Indiana. We have Spring & Fall semesters and will meet every Thursday during our semesters. Exact start and end dates will vary, so contact us for more specific details at [email protected]

Q:

What ages are attending your co-op? Do you have a high school program?

A:

Ages at our co-op currently range from 4-16. Siblings younger than 4 are welcome to stay with their parents during classes. Our high school program is a work in progress, with our plan to offer credited classes.

Q:

What does your co-op cost?

A:

Our semester tuition is $125/family for full members, and $50 for associate members.

For full members, class costs will be additional each semester and will vary from class to class. We understand this is hard to plan for, so while this can vary greatly, an average cost to expect is $75/student per semester.

Q:

What membership levels do you offer and what is the difference?

A:

We offer Full & Associate memberships.

Full Memberships: This membership level is for families who wish to attend co-op classes on Thursday mornings. It also includes access to all field trips, events, and workshops. Some field trips and workshops may include an additional cost, which is still typically a discounted group rate.

Associate Memberships: This membership level has access to our field trips, events, and workshops. Some field trips and workshops may include an additional cost, which is still typically a discounted group rate.

*Note: Some workshops and events will be offered to the public as well. If a cost is involved, both full and associate members will receive the "member rate," whereas the rest will have a "public rate." Signups to these events are all on a first come, first served basis and we cannot guarantee spots for members. When possible, we will open registration to our members first before offering spots to the public.

Q:

What are the parent requirements?

A:

For full members, parents are required to teach one class a semester OR assist in two classes per semester.

Q:

What does a typical class day look like as a full member?

A:

Here's a sample schedule for a class day:

Class 1: 10:00am-10:45am
Class 2: 10:50am-11:35am
Class 3: 11:40am-12:30pm
Lunch & Free Play/Clubs

Optional workshops will run from 2:00-3:00pm.

Q:

What classes do you teach each semester?

A:

Classes will change every semester depending on what our parents are willing to teach. To see an example of classes or our current classes for this semester, please contact us at [email protected]
